Sheridan Road named Katy one of its Power Women for 2026, in a profile titled Calm Advocate.

Asked what is shaping her leadership right now, Katy answered: calm. “Early in my career I thought leadership meant being the loudest voice in the room. Twenty plus years in, I know the opposite is true. The person who can bring the temperature down is the person who controls the room.”

The profile also traces her path at Beermann, from law clerk to equity partner. On what she is building toward, she said she wants that path to stop being remarkable. “I would much rather be the first than the only.”
